I took this photo back in 2015 during a fashion week, possibly in Paris. It was the 8th of March, International Women’s Day or La Festa della Donna and the agency had filled the showroom with beautiful Mimosa flowers.
I repost it today as a reminder and a tribute to a client whom I treated this week. A symbol of strength, joy, inner confidence and positivity.
Elegant in its make-up, the Mimosa flower represents the sun, sensitivity and safety. It’s a message of love, respect, and kindness. In the 1940s, Italian feminists chose the Mimosa flower as a symbol of female strength and sensibility, it has remained ever since. To give these flowers is a symbol of solidarity.
Originally found to grow in Africa and Asia, the Mimosa prefers a warmer climate (much like me). Used in traditional herbal medicine for its calming and steadying properties, it’s often also connected to philosophers or problem solvers.
In Hinduism, the colour yellow is a symbol of our personal power and connection to fire and the sun. The Solar Plexus Chakra, also known as Manipura Chakra, is the key to unlocking this energy within us. It represents new beginnings and rebirth, reminding us of our limitless potential and the power of knowledge and intellect. It inspires us to embrace our inner strength and ignite the fire within us.
Wishing you peace, love and blessings for this year ahead.
